We are an amateur orchestra based in Edinburgh who aim to platform music written by under-represented composers, especially women, alongside established repertoire. This has the dual benefit of showcasing these works to our audience and of giving our players the opportunity to explore works which they may not otherwise get to perform. Each of our concerts features at least one piece written by a woman composer.

Aurora Ensemble is made up of players from Edinburgh, Glasgow, and beyond, including students from Edinburgh University, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and Queen Margaret University.

Founded in October 2023, we play three concerts per year (October, February/March, and June) with intensive rehearsals on the weekends leading up to the concert. Details of past concerts can be found on our Past Concerts page.
